peer pressure. pEEr preSSure. Our parents have warned us from the beginning the dangers of peer pressure. But no one wants to listen right? Until they experience it themselves. My parents however, failed to mention it could to lead to certain people getting hanged? Maybe? Well lets go back to the beginning. I am Grace Nurse, Rebecca Nurse's favorite and only daughter. It started with the prettiest girl in Salem: Abigail. "Lets all lie," she said. "It'll be fun!" she said. Of course with the POWER of peer pressure, I did not fully evaluate the possibilities of lying to the contempt of court and accusing innocent people of something as wild as witchcraft. I know I know what you're all thinking, how could you NOT think of those things?? I'm telling you its all in peer pressure, its like you are brain washed. I mean that is basically what Abigail has done to me and like 15 other girls. She is a manipulative, “woman, a lying, cold, sniveling woman, and I will not work for such a woman!,” (pg. 140, line 148-149). Oh my goodness it all makes sense now! Because she is so pretty, and Reverend Parris' niece, she automatically has this power and authority over us. Anything she says goes. *moment of epiphany* “I never knew the lying lessons I was taught,” by Abigail could be so strong (pg. 146, line 467-468). Peer pressure has ultimately taken over the once pure city of Salem. Everyone still had their sanity, believed in God and his purpose, everyone has gone just mad now. And I guess I am part of the reason why this city is burning in hysteria. I guess it is too late now. Whats done is done. But we all have little Miss Abigail to blame. If she wasn't so powerful and substantially better than the rest of us, then she could not have so easily influenced us into claiming witchcraft upon so many people. So if you are one of those people who have been accused, I am sorry.
